Health Careers Program Graduate

In June 2012, I was recognized during my high school graduation for my completion of a rigorous honors program affiliated with HOSA – Future Health Professionals, an international student organization preparing for careers in healthcare and biomedical fields. The selective two-year program included participation in advanced college-level courses (e.g., human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, etc., some of which were eligible for dual-enrollment college credits) preparatory to careers in healthcare. In my second year, I completed several brief internship rotations in a local nursing home and hospital. Additionally, I volunteered frequently with American Red Cross blood drives and other local healthcare relevant outreach events and organized a capstone service project at a local nursing home.
